Job description
We're looking for an AI Engineer to own, maintain, and expand our agency brain. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with our founder on genuinely cutting-edge internal tooling that most agencies haven't even started thinking about, especially in the UK.
You'll be responsible for keeping existing AI workflows running reliably, building new agents and automations as ideas emerge from the team, and proactively bringing forward ideas that improve how we operate.
Key Responsibilities
Agency Brain Development & Maintenance
Own the upkeep and reliability of our OpenClaw-based agency brain
Ensure integrations with Notion, Xero, Fireflies, Slack, and other platforms remain stable
Diagnose and fix workflow breakages before they impact the team
Continuously improve data ingestion, retrieval, and output quality
AI Workflow & Agent Building
Design and build new AI-driven workflows based on internal briefs from leadership and ops
Build agents for use cases such as: client sentiment analysis, churn detection, revenue opportunity spotting, and creative strategy generation
Develop automated research-to-output pipelines - e.g. pulling TikTok/Instagram creative data and generating full brand strategy documents for strategists
Explore and implement end-to-end creative workflows (e.g. pulling performance data analysing generating ad variations via AI video tools)
LLM & Tooling Expertise
Stay at the forefront of developments across LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) and agentic frameworks
Identify cost-efficient ways to run workflows without burning unnecessary tokens or credits
Evaluate and integrate new tools and MCP-connected services as they emerge
Requirements
Must-Haves
Hands-on experience building AI workflows and automations (n8n, Make, LangChain, or similar)
Deep familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt engineering
Understanding of agentic AI systems, RAG pipelines, and vector databases
Experience integrating third-party APIs (Slack, Notion, Xero, or similar)
Proactive, self-starting attitude you bring ideas, not just completed tickets
Nice to Haves
Experience with OpenClaw or similar self-hosted agent runtimes
Familiarity with sentiment analysis and NLP-based workflows
Background in or exposure to performance marketing or creative agencies
Experience with web scraping and social media data pipelines
Knowledge of cost optimisation strategies for LLM usage at scale
The Person
Years of experience matter less than mindset. We're a team that subscribes to a 1% better every day philosophy; they want someone who shares it. You'll thrive here if you:
Keep your finger on the pulse of the AI world and get genuinely excited by new developments
Spot opportunities to automate or improve things without being asked
Communicate clearly and want to be part of a team, not just a coder in the corner
Are comfortable working remotely but want to show up for team socials and culture
Benefits & conditions
Salary up to £55,000-£60,000 depending on experience
Fully remote working with flexibility
Direct access to and collaboration with the founder
The chance to build genuinely novel AI infrastructure this is not a maintenance role, it's a build role
A fast-moving, ambitious team culture with regular socials
Real scope for growth as the AI function expands
