Job description
The Desktop Support Technician I provide system-wide, first-level IT support for Powers Health end users. This role is responsible for responding to Help Desk phone calls and electronic requests, resolving Level I incidents in accordance with established Incident Management policies, and escalating issues as appropriate. The position also supports desktop-related project tasks and assists in maintaining standardized hardware and workstation configurations across the organization. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, documentation, and adherence to healthcare IT standards. The Desktop Support Technician I works independently to prioritize tasks while following defined escalation paths and service level agreements (SLAs).
Requirements

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR high school diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of desktop support experience.

Healthcare IT support experience preferred.

Proven ability to troubleshoot and support Windows desktop operating systems.

Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet-based applications.

Ability to repair and support desktop and laptop hardware (HP and/or Macintosh preferred).

Experience with IT service management (ITSM) ticketing systems such as Cherwell or ServiceNow preferred.

CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications preferred.

Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while following established processes and escalation procedures.

Proven ability to work effectively with non-technical users at all organizational levels.
