Job description
Our client seeks a Data Warehouse Architect / Teradata Developer. This role will work closely with developers, leadership, stakeholders, and various and vendor staff on a day-to-day basis. It's a collaborative and well-established group that is looking for a senior-level resource who can step in and contribute immediately.
Tasks
- Responsible for complex Common Batch Framework and Common Scheduler to ensure current and reliable data is available for critical business processes and decision making.
- Responsible for Data Warehouse change management infrastructure and all promotions of code and ddl; performing build engineer tasks for both manual and automated promotion processes.
- Responsibility for complex Linux security model on DW ETL servers. (Servers are administered by another group, but our team is responsible for the security structure and authorizes user access to the groups and sudos)
- Responsibility for Teradata security and access.
- Conduct data architecture reviews and audits to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and solutions
- Responsible for providing support for escalated Data Warehouse issue troubleshooting and resolution.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve performance and scalability
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and effective use of enterprise data assets
- Manage and support data integration processes, including ETL workflows across multiple systems
- Collaborate with external vendors and third-party service providers as needed
- Support patch management, system upgrades, and ongoing system maintenance
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues across data platforms
- Perform data profiling and implement data quality rules for assessment and validation
- Execute data cleansing and standardization using both built-in and custom data rules
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for data systems
- Lead efforts to migrate data warehouse processes to standardized/common frameworks
- Conduct elevated access reviews and user audits to ensure compliance
- Identify and remediate audit findings related to data systems and security
Requirements
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to determine appropriate solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, particularly in troubleshooting complex data and system issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
NOTE: Candidates must be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within 90 miles) at time of submission. No relocation allowed. Hybrid Work Schedule (Non-Negotiable): There is no remote-only option. Required onsite days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Remote eligible days- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, * 8+ years - Teradata experience
- Experience supporting the loading of data from multiple source systems
- Experience providing targeted training and technical guidance to development teams for troubleshooting and batch support
- 5 years - Linux experience, * Previous government experience
- Experience with cloud-based BI tools
