Job description

  1. Performs problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution. In this capacity, performs programming, configuration, and debugging activities.
  2. Responds to issues in a timely manner by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.
  3. May analyze trends with technical issues and provide input to developing short- or long-term improvements.
  4. Documents all relevant end-user interactions and steps taken to resolve incidents.
  5. May have occasional contact with end-users.
  6. Works within standard guidelines and a high degree of supervision in order to gain practical skills.
  7. Analyzes basic information and makes decisions within guidelines to solve problems., Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.

  1. Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  2. Understanding of application development and/or support and coding.
  3. Foundational knowledge of business concepts and terms.
  4. Effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing basic information about application release and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  2. Basic knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and z/OS
  3. Familiarity with TSO/ISPF and mainframe batch processing concepts
  4. Exposure to DB2, IMS, or VSAM data structures
  5. Awareness of AI tools for code analysis, documentation, and automation
  6. Basic scripting skills (Python, Shell, or PowerShell) for process automation
  7. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps)
  8. Understanding of API integration (REST services, z/OS Connect) and hybrid architectures
  9. Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts
  10. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, Frequently (25% - 50% of the time)

Visual / Audio / Speaking

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
