The Bioinformatics Analyst will work with the DO-KB team and will be primarily responsible for curation of new disease knowledge, interacting within the UMSOM system and externally with clinical and biomedical researchers. Join our team to expand our structured knowledge system, to help organize, integrate, and analyze disease mechanisms and features., * Contribute to genomic research projects and scientific analysis of the disease related data generated by those projects using a variety of databases and software applications. Generate, annotate, gather, or analyze data and prepare for further analysis, or research.

  • Following established procedures or specific scientific protocols, add value to data generated by genomic projects through annotation, curation, and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate the investigation and ingestion of disease classification, nosology, and mechanism information.
  • Contribute to the development of DO-KB ontologies (Human Disease Ontology, Disease Driver Ontology, Symptom Ontology, Pathogen Transmission Ontology).
