Job description

As a Junior Desktop Support Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the ongoing desktop and IT support of Media and Publications with the IRS. We have an established support team supporting approximately 150 employees located in Washington, DC, and another 80 employees in New Carrollton, MD. You will be responsible for the continued day-to-day maintenance and support of the IRS Common Operating Environment based on Microsoft Windows. You will also be expected to support "above baseline applications". Ordinary support needs include all desktop and laptop deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Additionally, support for individual/network printers, projectors for multimedia presentations, smartboard whiteboards, blackberries, and scanners. Proven ability to offer high-level desktop support in an enterprise environment.

Requirements

Ability to obtain a Minimum Background Investigation ( MBI) ( Similar to a Public Trust).

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of IT experience. Candidates must possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Office 365

  • VPN , LAN , WAN

  • Active directory

  • Windows

  • Use of a Ticketing system ( for example, KISAM, ServiceNow)

Ideal candidates may also possess:

  • Existing familiarity with IRS and IRS processes, as well as active MBI
