POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer- Cogito focuses on reporting tools in Epic (our electronic health record application), backend development with SQL, SSIS, and other database application development tools in a .Net environment. Designs, develops, supports, and executes reports, dashboards, and solutions that support Ardent Health's market and corporate customers.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Participates in Ardent's future state Cogito development.
  2. Designs, develops, and maintains extracts from Epic's Clarity & Caboodle databases utilizing SSIS and our sFTP program GoAnywhere.
  3. Responsible for gathering requirements, creation, operational stability, tuning, and management of reports and dashboards utilizing Epic reporting tools and PowerBI.
  4. Participates in agile meetings (e.g. daily scrums, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint planning).
  5. Acts as a Mentor to other developers.
  6. Provides corporate and market resources with support and enhancements for Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and PowerBI reporting tools.
  7. Responds to support tickets in line with established turnaround times.
  8. Investigates and completes build for Epic upgrades.
  9. Provides on-call support rotation for critical applications and reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Data Science or related field of study.
  • Additional years of experience may substitute for the rquired education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 7+ years of designing and developing ETL and/or reporting from SQL Server.
  • Source control experience.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, support).
  • Epic certified in the Access, Revenue, or Clinical data model tracks.
  • 10+ years of designing and developing ETL and reporting from SQL Server, preferred.
  • 5+ years designing data models, preferred.
  • 3+ years building reports and/or dashboards with PowerBI, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with AI and/or machine learning, preferred.
  • Experience with Git source control, preferred.
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry, preferred.
  • Certification(s) in Caboodle development, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Team player with a can-do approach to solving complex technical problems.
  • Support multiple Epic applications teams by keeping them abreast of new functionality and learning their new build.
  • Ability to consult with business leaders directly through development of positive working relationships.
  • High degree of critical thinking along with the ability to be an innovative problem solver who works independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of developing well-architected solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
