Job description

Technical Analyst for an MDM (Master Data Management) Product Suite typically combines technical expertise in data management environments with analytical, configuration, support, and sometimes governance responsibilities. This role focuses on implementation, optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring the MDM suite delivers high-quality master data across the enterprise.

This role is technical requiring good communication to bridge technical and business teams.

  • Contribute to the design, configuration, development, and implementation of MDM solutions within the product suite, including data modeling, match/merge rules, survivorship rules, and workflow configuration.

  • Perform hands-on technical tasks such as building and optimizing complex data quality rules, profiling, cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and deduplication processes.

  • Provide technical support for the MDM application(s), including troubleshooting errors, investigating root cause analysis (RCA), resolving production issues, and performing performance tuning.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data stewards, data owners, architects, developers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and ensure alignment with enterprise data governance and quality standards.

  • Monitor, audit, and maintain master data quality and integrity across domains (e. . , customer, product, supplier, vendor, or reference data), remediating issues and enforcing data governance policies.

  • Conduct data analysis, profiling, and reporting to identify data quality issues, anomalies, or improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements to MDM processes or configurations.

  • Support integration of the MDM suite with upstream/downstream systems (e. . , CRMs, ERPs, data warehouses, or other applications), including API/web service configuration, batch/real-time integration troubleshooting, and data flow validation.

  • Participate in testing activities (unit, system, integration, UAT), create test scenarios/cases, validate outcomes, and ensure releases/upgrades maintain stability and quality.

  • Train technical staff, end-users, and data stewards on MDM product concepts, usage, best practices, and configuration techniques.

  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements, upgrades, patches, and migrations for the MDM product suite, evaluating new features/technologies and recommending improvements.

  • Document technical designs, configurations, processes, runbooks, and knowledge articles to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.

  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements within the MDM environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field).

Experience:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in business system and technical analysis, with at least 2+ years in a technical analyst or equivalent role.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with data quality tools, profiling, cleansing, match/merge logic, and survivorship rules.

  • Knowledge of integration patterns (ETL, APIs, web services, real-time/event-driven).

  • Familiarity with data governance principles, stewardship workflows, and master data domains.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.

  • Ability to work independently and in agile/cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience as a product owner embedded in agile teams.

  • Experience with cloud-based MDM deployments or hybrid environments.

  • Experience in SQL/PL-SQL, data querying, and scripting.

  • Exposure to related technologies: ERP/CRM systems (e. . , SAP, Salesforce), big data tools, or data lakes.
