Job Purpose and Objectives: Assist in the operation and support of Public Safety and related County technology. Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and support Public Safety applications, network equipment, servers, storage, telephony, radios, building security systems, and related infrastructure. Monitor systems to ensure availability to Public Safety agencies and respond to alerts, outages, and performance issues during regular and after-hours, including weekends. Coordinate with Public Safety agencies, vendors, and IT staff to support system reliability, issue resolution, projects, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures, including KBI KCJIS requirements. This position requires extensive contact with Public Safety agencies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related field or two years related experience and/or training.

  • Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position.

  • Must be a US citizen or non-US citizen able to work in the United States.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a named-based record check before employment is offered or before job duties are assigned that might expose them to KCJIS-sensitive information.

  • Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprint-based check within 30 days after initial employment or assignment and before unconditional employment is offered.

Certifications / Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid Kansas driver's license.
