Job description
The Senior Mainframe Developer supports enterprise Medicaid systems with a focus on claims adjudication, payment processing, and legacy system enhancements. This role is responsible for maintaining and updating production systems, supporting ongoing initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable system performance. The position requires strong technical expertise in mainframe technologies along with effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment., Mainframe Development & System Maintenance
- Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications running on mainframe systems
- Implement coding changes to support claims adjudication and payment processing workflows
- Work with IDMS Network and Relational databases to support application functionality
- Perform debugging, unit testing, and integration testing for all changes
Production Support & Issue Resolution
- Support production systems and resolve defects or performance issues
- Collaborate with QA teams to address issues identified during testing phases
- Participate in on-call rotation to support system availability and operational continuity
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and system defects
Collaboration & Project Support
- Work collaboratively with development, QA, operations, and business teams
- Support smaller project initiatives and enhancements alongside ongoing system maintenance
- Communicate progress, issues, and solutions effectively across stakeholders
- Contribute to system improvements and support evolving business needs
Testing, Validation & Deployment Support
- Support Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, and external testing activities
- Make necessary code adjustments based on testing outcomes
- Ensure changes meet functional and technical requirements prior to production release
Requirements
Do you have experience in Mainframe development?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Senior Level (10 or more years of relevant experience), * 10 or more years of experience with mainframe systems
- 10 or more years of experience with MVS COBOL development
- 10 or more years of experience working with JCL
- 10 or more years of experience working with IDMS Network databases
- 10 or more years of experience working with DB2
- 7 or more years of experience with CA-ADS
- 5 or more years of experience with Changeman
- 5 or more years of experience with CICS
- 5 or more years of experience with VSAM
- Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAS
- Experience with File-Aid
- Experience supporting Medicaid or Medicare claims processing systems
- Experience with MQ messaging
- Experience with Endevor or Xpeditor tools
