Senior Database Infrastructure Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Infrastructure Architect to support enterprise-level database operations and architecture initiatives for a large-scale government environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and SQL Server platforms and demonstrate strong experience in designing, optimizing, and supporting integrated database infrastructures within secure enterprise environments. This role requires a senior-level professional capable of driving database architecture strategy, performance optimization, disaster recovery support, and operational excellence across multiple computing platforms. Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level database schemas and architectures Lead database infrastructure planning across DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and SQL Server platforms Perform advanced database administration, monitoring, tuning, and performance optimization Develop and maintain database standards, procedures, and operational documentation Support data warehousing and integrated enterprise database environments Conduct SQL code reviews and implement database optimization strategies Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes Support z/OS environments including JCL, ISPF, CICS, and RACF Administer and support CA GEN models and application objects Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure system stability and compliance Mentor junior database administrators and technical staff Participate in on-call rotation, weekend support, and production issue resolution Ensure compliance with government security and infrastructure standards

15+ years of hands-on experience in database administration and infrastructure support Strong expertise in: DB2 for z/OS Oracle Database Microsoft SQL Server Experience working on government or public-sector projects Experience supporting enterprise-scale integrated database environments Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of: Database performance tuning and optimization Database backup and recovery Point-in-time recovery SQL performance analysis Schema design and data architecture Strong experience with, Familiarity with: Azure Windows Server SSMS SSRS SSIS Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Equivalent work experience may be considered
