Job description
The Data Analyst I will deliver insights, support business leaders, and assist in procuring data for functional analytics. The role will partner with business units to help ask critical questions and drive success. The Data Analyst will act as a storyteller who collects data from various sources to guide strategic business decisions. From optimizing reporting to solving ad hoc questions to deep investigation and study, the position will play a key component in helping make great decisions. Translate business requirements across multiple functions into data solutions

Explore data to identify patterns and unearth new findings

Collect, clean, wrangle, and aggregate complex data from multiple sources

Solve business problems using statistical and inferential methods

Partners with leaders and peers in Data Governance and Master Data Management to ensure that policies, processes, methods, and tools are suitable to get data clean and keep it that way

Partners with key technology partners, like Data Warehouse, Data Architects and Engineering to ensure data is available and remains integral as it moves from ingestion to analysis
Requirements
Do you have experience in Stakeholder management?, * Bachelor's Degree in business, technology, engineering, analytics, or a related field with proven data experience

1 year of experience (professional, internship, or academic) directly related to the extraction and cleansing of data to prepare it for use, including the use of relevant tools.

Excellent capability with Excel

Good capability with using SQL queries to extract large data sets for EDA and other purposes
-
Experience with data focused programming language R or Python
-
Understanding of the fundamentals of data warehouse, ideally in a cloud environment
-
Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Experience with Statistics, EDA, and data transformation

Experience in hybrid technical environment
-
Experience in large consumer facing industry - auto, retail, QSR
-
Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization software
-
Knowledge of Databricks, Jupyter, and/or other sharable computational notebook applications

This position may require minimal travel to vendor locations, assessment at stores and Ilitch Companies facilities, data centers or seminars/networking.

Requires extended periods of time sitting and talking on the phone.

Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like.
