Are you ready to design and deliver innovative software solutions that solve real-world challenges? At Jacobs, we're seeking experienced Java Software Engineers to join our Digital & Data team. This is your opportunity to work on impactful projects across diverse sectors, including water, transportation, defence, and government, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create scalable, high-performance back-end services.

As a Java Software Engineer, you'll apply object-oriented principles to build robust solutions, leveraging cloud technologies and modern development practices. This hands-on role offers the chance to take ownership of end-to-end solutions, engage directly with clients, and contribute to a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

• Design, implement, and deliver scalable back-end services and APIs using modern Java best practices.
• Optimise application performance through multi-threading and concurrency techniques.
• Collaborate with agile teams, including product owners, architects, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software.
• Utilise cloud platforms like Azure and integrate data storage solutions for scalable service delivery.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.

Do you have experience in Test automation?, * Minimum two years of Java development experience with a strong understanding of Java 8+ features and object-oriented design principles.

• Expertisein multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and automated testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Proven ability to deliver robust, scalable software solutions within agile teams.

This is a full time, permanent, remote or hybrid (2-3 days/week) role, with occasional business travel. Full-time employment at Jacobs is based on a 40-hour working week. We place a strong emphasis on work-life balance and flexibility, and flexi-time is available.
