The X-Labs Operations team exists to accelerate the innovation of Comcast's next-generation architectures and products. Our production-like environments serve as the backbone for development and quality assurance, and our people help align the many advancements within Comcast and our industry., X-Labs Operations Engineer is directly accountable for the physical installation and maintenance support within Comcast's national labs. Responsible for participating as an individual contributor in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Engineer possesses a deep understanding of MSO architectures including CRAN, DAA, NDC, HFC, and cloud video. Individual responds to network incidents, determines actions or resources needed for correction, and drives resolution. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Maintains in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in area of discipline, usually determining own work priorities and serving as resource for colleagues with less experience. Interfaces regularly with vendors, engineering, and peer operations organizations, including Design Engineering, Video Engineering, CMTS Engineering, Systems Engineering, IP Network Engineering, Critical Infrastructure, and Project Management. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams, projects, and provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in MSOs Architectures (multiple-system operators), including HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), DAA (Distributed Access Architecture), PON (Passive Optical Network), etc.
- Proven ability to analyze andphysicallyevaluate complexIP/RF/Opticalnetworks,identifyissues, andapply corrections or enhancements to ensurenetwork operation efficiency.
- A self-starter whodemonstratescritical thinking, self-motivation,time-management,courage,and curiosity.
- Intermediate knowledgeof Critical Infrastructure systems(power/space/cooling)andtheirimportance to Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).
- Ability toidentifyoperational andperformanceopportunities;assistwith creatingstrategies and recommendations to improve networkavailability, andproactively contribute insights within the area of expertise to simplify futureadditions and changes.
- Ability to partner with functional teams to influence and drive alignment.
- Familiarity with MicrosoftOfficesuite including Outlook, Excel,Teams,and PowerPoint.
- Experience withticketing platforms,ie. JIRA., Collaboration; Teamwork; HFC Network; Communication, Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
