Job description
The Director of Information Systems (DIS) is a key member of the leadership team for B2B, responsible for shaping and executing the organization's technology vision. This role serves as a strategic partner to Sales, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Warehousing, Finance, and E-Commerce, evaluating technology needs and defining priorities for application development, digital transformation, cybersecurity, AI adoption, and infrastructure modernization.
The DIS will establish the boundaries between internal and outsourced IT resources while ensuring strong performance, accountability, and seamless alignment with third-party vendors and technology partners. The DIS will be responsible for developing the company's technology vision, driving digital innovation, strengthening cybersecurity, optimizing systems, and enhancing platforms such as Sage ERP, E-Commerce systems, and customer-facing digital tools. This leader will ensure reliability of networks, servers, cloud environments, and operational systems while championing continuous improvement and scalable growth through AI-enabled automation and analytics.
Role and Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
Build and execute a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap aligned with the company's growth and operational objectives.
· Serve as a technology visionary, identifying digital tools, AI solutions, and innovations that enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
· Lead digital transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization, system integrations, and the evolution of E-Commerce capabilities.
· Strengthen cybersecurity posture through monitoring, upgrades, AI-assisted threat detection, and adherence to industry best practices.
Systems, Applications & Integration
Lead optimization of Sage ERP, focusing on improvements in inventory, pricing, procurement, financials, and E-Commerce integration.
· Oversee enhancements to packaging-industry tools, including SKU configurators, artwork approval systems, pricing engines, and fulfillment applications.
· Manage implementation and continuous improvement of CRM, quoting, and digital order management platforms across all sites.
· Drive integration of applications across departments to improve automation, data accuracy, and AI-enabled reporting and insights.
E-Commerce & Digital Experience
Oversee the E-Commerce platform, ensuring real-time connectivity with ERP, customer data, inventory, and order tracking.
· Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to enhance online product catalogs, customer portals, self-service capabilities, and automated workflows.
· Support development of digital configurators, sample ordering engines, and packaging specification tools, incorporating AI-driven recommendation engines where appropriate.
Infrastructure, Operations & Governance
Lead IT infrastructure strategy, including cloud migration, network resilience, redundancy, cybersecurity, and business continuity planning.
· Manage IT operations, including system performance, service desk support, and helpdesk processes.
· Establish and enforce IT governance practices, documentation standards, and change management processes.
· Manage IT budgets, technology investments, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations, including those related to AI platforms and solutions.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Build and mentor a high-performing technology team capable of supporting current needs and future business expansion.
· Promote a customer-first service culture within the IT function and encourage strong cross-functional collaboration.
· Champion innovation and continuous improvement, driving adoption of modern technologies, automation, AI, and data analytics.
· Support technology components of M&A activities, including diligence, integration, and system standardization.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced IT degree preferred.
· Experience: 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience within manufacturing, distribution, packaging, or related sectors.
· Skills and Competencies: Strong experience with Sage ERP, E-Commerce platforms (Shopify, E-Commerce, Magento, or custom B2B portals), and system integration. Office 365, SQL, cloud platforms, and CRM systems (HubSpot preferred).
· Demonstrate success in fast-growing, private equity-backed environments with the ability to scale systems rapidly.
· Be both strategic and hands on, capable of shaping technology vision while diving deep into operational execution.
· Experience leading digital transformation initiatives and building modern scalable IT environments that incorporate AI and automation.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Strong team-building capabilities. Calm under pressure, decisive, and committed to continuous improvement.
· Entrepreneurial mindset with strong drive to create enterprise value, Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 20 pounds at times. Must be able to navigate throughout the physical building.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend or longer hours may be required based on business needs.
Benefits & conditions
Compensation - The anticipated salary range for this position is between $175,000 and $200,000 with a 10% bonus., 1. 401(k) with employer match
