Job description

The Senior Systems Engineer is a senior-level infrastructure professional responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems across a global, multi-office environment. This role requires deep hands-on technical expertise combined with the ability to lead by example, guide other engineers, and take ownership of complex technical outcomes. This position is suited for a senior engineer who enjoys staying close to the technology, proactively solving problems, and supporting a team to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure., Core Engineering Responsibilities

  • Design, build, operate, and support on-premises infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, SCCM and proprietary services

  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point (Tier 3) for complex infrastructure issues, including incident response and root-cause analysis

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and cloud services across enterprise environments

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and storage utilization, and proactively address risks, capacity issues, and technical debt

  • Plan and execute system upgrades and improvements to support growth, stability, and security

  • Manage and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions

  • Implement and maintain security standards and controls across infrastructure platforms

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, standards, and procedures Platform Improvement

  • Support and implement Windows/Linux and Internal proprietary initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and consistency

  • Manage and support open-source platforms and tools used within the infrastructure environment

  • Continuously evaluate and improve tooling, monitoring, and operational processes Team Collaboration & Leadership Provide technical guidance and mentoring to systems administrators and engineers

  • Support team members by reviewing designs, assisting with complex troubleshooting, and sharing best practices

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure projects and operational improvements

  • Support escalated helpdesk requests when required

  • Work flexibly with Asia and Brazil time zones to support global operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, or Commvault are desirable Experience

  • 9-12 years of experience in enterprise IT or infrastructure engineering roles

  • Demonstrated experience working in global, multi-site environments

  • Proven ability to independently own and deliver complex technical solutions Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with hybrid cloud environments, including:

  • Microsoft Azure administration (RBAC, Conditional Access, IaaS/PaaS)

  • VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms

  • Administration of Microsoft M365 services (Hybrid Exchange, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Intune) using PowerShell

  • Strong programming /scripting skills

  • Strong experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions

  • Administration of Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems

  • Management of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid identity environments

  • Support of Exchange Server (on-premises and cloud) hybrid environments

  • Experience managing NAS and SAN storage platforms

  • Experience supporting Kubernetes (K8s) environments

  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN/SSL, and endpoint security

  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as Zabbix, including dashboards and alerting

  • Management of SCCM/MECM, OS imaging, compliance baselines, and WSUS patching

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, endpoints, virtualization, backups, and cloud platforms Professional Attributes
