Job description
- Responsible for supporting specimen processing and pre-analytical laboratory operations in a high-volume production environment.
- The role involves handling specimens, ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures, maintaining quality standards, and supporting timely and accurate laboratory workflows., * Learn assigned duties within Pre-Analytical Assistant functions and Tech Ops/Specimen Processing workflow.
- Identify and resolve specimen issues such as missing information, incorrect specimen types, and processing errors.
- Support sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens.
- Research test order information using system tools and directories.
- Ensure compliance with test ordering and laboratory policies.
- Maintain quality and production standards after training completion.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation.
- Report to work on time and support team during coworker absences.
- Perform additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in a production and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to follow safety, compliance, and workplace procedures.
- Ability to work in a biohazard environment with required safety compliance.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs., * Medical background or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
- Familiarity with mainframe or laboratory computer systems preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a positive work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments and schedules.
