Job description

This position will be responsible for leading the Pre-Sales design of Enterprise on-premise, off-premise cloud, and hybrid customer solutions. Your primary responsibility is to support sales operations in the U.S. New England Region. Mainly NYC & NJ.

You will be providing remote and on-site client consulting, pre-sales support, technical assistance, design and architecture of cutting edge technology solutions. You will be providing high value solutions of Enterprise Architecture, for on-premise, off-premise, public cloud, and hybrid solutions.

Primary duties include the design, architecture and validation of installations or upgrades of hardware and software products, technical assistance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Consult, Architect, Plan, & designs Integrated Solutions which meet clients' requirements.
  • Lead complex technical projects from a pre-sales engineering perspective under the guidance of Comport Project Management.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed Scopes of Work (SOWs) from interactions with clients, other Comport Team Members, and 3rd Party vendors for complex solutions.
  • Prepared to work in multi-platform environments utilizing strategic technologies and solutions.
  • Proactively provide feedback, relating to client's technologies and solutions or client issues.
  • Conduct formal and informal presentations of technical solutions to clients as part of pre-sales and post-sales support efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and generate reports describing technical problems encountered and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Keep accurate records and notes regarding all client projects, including timekeeping, documentation, project plans, trip reports and status reports.
  • Flexible with time demands and able to deal with frequent and last-minute scheduling changes.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to flex and extend efforts whenever a customer engagement or sales opportunity requires it.
  • Prepare equipment for Comport's in-house Demo Lab.
  • Assist the Integration team, in integrating and configuring systems.
  • Assist the Professional Services and Technical Engineering teams with tech-edits, troubleshooting, configurations, and research.
  • Attend technical training as needed, which may be out of territory.
  • Attend ongoing training to keep current knowledge base on solutions we support.
  • Maintain current certifications, achieve new certifications and keep up-to-date on certifications for new products or services, as directed by Management.

Requirements

B.A. degree in Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience with Server Virtualization, Networking, Cybersecurity, Storage, public cloud, or Backup systems. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge of a wide variety of technical information.
  • Responds quickly to client information requests.
  • Able to exercise diplomacy and sensitivity when dealing with clients.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, travel schedules, and presentation requests in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly developed communications skills for interacting with clients effectively.
  • Strong experience with multi-vendor Operating Systems, Windows, Unix, and Linux.
  • Ability to maintain a courteous, professional manner with clients, and work well in stressful situations.
  • Familiar with Visio, or other tools to develop detailed configurations and solution diagrams.
  • Ability to interface internally with all departments and externally with outside sales, clients, and partners.
  • Ability to work effectively under remote supervision.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to write blogs, social media posts, or other marketing materials for publication that conform to company standards.
  • Ability to effectively present information to IT management as well as technical or engineering decision makers.
  • Ability to Develop, Create and respond to Technical Requests for Proposals (RFP's)
  • Ability to Design and develop Proof of Concept plans to sell Comport Solutions.
  • Relevant OEM industry certifications in HPE, Cisco, Aruba, Netapp, Pure, etc
  • VMware VTSP, VCP or more advance certifications is a plus
