Job description

Our client, a large Biopharma company in the U.S., is looking for a data engineer who can work on projects to help automate data capture from lab systems and reduce manual data entry.

This person will be working on a variety of use cases focusing on structured data capture from lab systems and application development. They will work closely with the SMEs who generate and utilize the lab data to understand requirements and implement software solutions against those requirements. The software solutions may span implementation within vendor systems or creation of custom software in python and/or SQL to accomplish these goals. This individual will have to be physically present at one of our USA sites (Bothell WA, St. Louis MO, Groton CT or Andover MA) to interface with SMEs and other members of the data engineering team as required.

Requirements

Ability to commute to one of our four USA sites (Bothell WA, St. Louis MO, Groton CT, or Andover MA)

  • 2+ years developing software applications or data apps

  • 2+ years of experience with Python

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL systems (e.g. Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, or any other RDBMS)

  • Experience with a source control provider (e.g. git)

  • Experience interfacing with non-technical stakeholders and distilling requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelors degree or higher in computer science or similar - Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, FAA, etc)

  • Experience interfacing with scientists

  • Experience hosting applications (e.g. AWS, GCP, Snowpark)

  • Experience with common Python development frameworks (e.g. Streamlit)

  • Experience with enterprise data acquisition software (e.g. Waters Empower, AVEVA PI, etc.)
