Job description

Our client, a leader in the retail and consumer sectors, is seeking a Data Platform Architect to join their team. As a Data Platform Architect, you will be part of the Data Engineering Department supporting the Enterprise Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach, which will align successfully in the organization., + Partner closely with architecture and engineering teams to accelerate the development of the Enterprise Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Drive architecture design, prototyping, and pragmatic delivery of scalable data solutions.

  • Focus on the Enterprise Consumption Layer, delivering consumption-ready data products for BI and AI use cases.

  • Validate patterns through proof-of-concept initiatives and guide teams in implementing scalable solutions.

  • Define and promote enterprise standards for data modeling, security, and governance.

What's Needed?

Requirements

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience with significant hands-on delivery in modern data platforms.

  • Strong experience building on Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Dataform, GCS, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions/Cloud Run, and IAM.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across architecture and implementation, defining patterns, prototyping, and guiding adoption.

  • Solid foundation in dimensional modeling, data quality, security, and access design.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
