Job description
The successful candidate will act as the go-to Linux and infrastructure expert for the client's self-hosted environments. Day-to-day, the role spans a broad remit:
- Owning reliability and repeatability of self-hosted and bare metal deployments
- Partnering directly with enterprise customers on on-prem deployment requirements and constraints
- Leading observability improvements - Grafana, alerting, and debugging tooling across self-hosted environments
- Building and maintaining automation for server provisioning and configuration management
- Supporting and improving the Kubernetes-based deployment stack and Helm charts
- Expanding test coverage for self-hosted configurations to catch issues before customers do
- Reducing firefighting by identifying root causes and building durable, long-term solutions
FIRST 90 DAYS PRIORITIES
- Stand up improved observability across self-hosted environments - dashboards, alerts, and actionable debugging tools
- Contribute to ongoing Kubernetes and deployment stack upgrades
- Automate server provisioning to remove manual steps from the install process
- Expand test coverage for self-hosted configurations
- Engage with customers to understand on-prem requirements and improve deployment playbooks
Requirements
- Strong Linux systems experience - comfortable at every layer of the stack
- DevOps or SRE background with a production and reliability focus
- Proven experience with modern deployment practices and tooling
- Comfort operating in complex, customer-managed environments
STRONG PLUS
- Bare metal experience alongside Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps workflows
- Solid networking and infrastructure fundamentals
- Datacenter or on-prem deployment background
- Security fundamentals - TLS, certificates, network segmentation
