Job description
The Business Systems Specialist performs systems analysis assignments with varying degrees of supervision. The Business Systems Analyst III also provides complex technical business support to clients that utilize small/midsize/enterprise level systems.
Depth & Scope:
- Communicates with programmers to ensure understanding of business processes and requirements of the users. Works with programmers to ensure that the delivered system matches the specified features and functions
- Assesses available technologies recommending innovative and cost-effective solutions
- Analyzes business challenges and recommends appropriate IT solutions and services
- Maps current business processes to new systems and supports the transition to the new solution
- Determines interface requirements for effective system transition
- Resolves issues that cross multiple systems or departments that may affect the business process
- Develops detailed specification documents that include features and functions of the new system
- Develops test plans and test case scenarios to guarantee the new system design meets business requirements
- Implements new system installations, upgrade and conversions

Requirements
- 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ Years of related experience
- Excellent communications, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Progressively responsible experience in large scale corporate systems analysis
- Previous management experience required
- Ability to work with systems users or potential users to develop system specifications and requirements, applying business systems knowledge to ensure relevant areas of research are addressed
- Ability to independently translate user requirements into technical specifications, * Minimum of 3 years' experience as Business Systems Analyst on FIS (Fidelity Information Services)/Systematics ALS (AM) application
- In-depth, hands-on experience from a Technology perspective, not business use
- Systematics key program function & logic aligned to functional application experience
- System / technical requirement writing skills with proven experience
- Testing experience with functional manual testing and reviewing technical /unit testing
- Experience working with both waterfall and agile methodology
- Experience in creating user process documentation
- Knowledge / experience with the following technical skills preferred
- TSO/ISPF
- CAVIEW
- PDS & Application Datasets: Ability to read, copy, create
- SDSF options (Understanding and functionality)
- COBOL basic understanding
- Endevor element browse
- Experience using File-aid
- Understanding of basic file reading
- Ability to map a copybook to a file
- Ability to select records based on [positional selection criteria]
- Software skills required: Excel, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, (Monarch)
- Experience writing / executing Easytrieve programs to include: Report lists, Report Summary, Create Delimited Datasets (Optional), Keyed reads (Optional)
- Terminal Emulator Macros
- Ability to create/work with mainframe macros for screen scraping and data entry
- Communications skills
- Experience leading business & technical meetings
- Ability to communicate to both technical and business audience
- Experience turning data into useful meeting documents
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve the desired result
- Experience working in cross-functional matrix teams
- Proven history working as part of a remote team including remote deployments
- Proven track record of working and delivering with high performance teams
