Job description
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance across enterprise systems. This role focuses on cloud platform administration, infrastructure automation, virtualization, networking, and operational support., · Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or similar automation technologies.
· Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions.
· Develop and maintain cloud networking solutions including virtual networks, VPN connectivity, routing, firewalls, DNS, and hybrid connectivity architectures.
· Implement cloud security controls and infrastructure hardening standards including IAM, endpoint protection, network security policies, and intrusion detection/prevention solutions.
· Monitor infrastructure health, availability, performance, and cloud resource utilization using enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
· Support CI/CD pipeline integration and infrastructure deployment automation in collaboration with DevOps and application delivery teams.
· Configure and manage virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and cloud-native compute services.
· Manage enterprise networking infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VPN connectivity, routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, and wireless networking.
· Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture standards, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.
· Support compliance and governance initiatives including PCI DSS, SOC 1, and SOC 2 by maintaining technical controls, configurations, and audit evidence.
· Provide Tier III infrastructure engineering support for critical production environments.
· Participate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting enterprise cloud and infrastructure services.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, · High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
· 3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and systems administration.
· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
· Must have experience working closely with users and management.
· Able to work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
· Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
· Understanding of cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance best practices.
· Can lead projects through complex tasks.
· Flexible and able to quickly adapt and learn new technologies. Certifications in Microsoft Azure is preferred.
Expected Work and Performance:
· Design, deploy, administer, and optimize cloud and infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure., * Working technical knowledge of current systems hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Experience managing IP based systems consisting of multiple subnets and VLANs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the concepts of cloud computing (infrastructure / software / platform as a service) and the ability to apply those concepts in the use of diverse cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, * Have you implemented Infrastructure as Code, ARM/Bicep, or similar automation technologies?
- Have you performed on prem to Azure cloud migrations?
- Are you experienced with VMware?
- What's your level of expertise with PowerShell?
