Job description

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will support and enhance large scale database environments by ensuring performance, availability, and reliability across multiple platforms. You will work closely with engineering and product teams in an Agile environment, contributing to database design, administration, and strategy while driving automation, operational consistency, and best practices., * Administer and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments across development and production.

  • Perform database lifecycle management including upgrades, migrations, patching, and automation.
  • Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing strategies, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
  • Support high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including failover and recovery processes.
  • Participate in on call support rotation for production systems.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate database maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
  • Mentor junior and mid level team members and promote best practices.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Oracle database administration, including RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
  • Strong experience across development and production DBA responsibilities including backup, recovery, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager and data replication tools.
  • Advanced SQL and PL/SQL expertise with performance tuning experience.
  • Knowledge of database security practices including access control and auditing.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using shell, Perl, or PowerShell.
  • Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery environments.
  • Exposure to ETL or data movement processes involving large datasets.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and collaboration tools.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience preferred.
