Job description
Join a team dedicated to building an exceptional security data platform from the ground up. As a Sr. Security Data Engineer at Adobe, you will transform petabyte-scale security data into clear intelligence. You will deliver real impact for technical teams and executive leadership. We prioritize practical security, automation, and seamless data flow throughout the company, and we want someone who's excited to help build what that looks like.
The right candidate bridges the gap between raw security data and smart business decisions. Compose resilient data pipelines, build sophisticated Power BI reporting solutions, and enable self-service insights throughout the security division. You're proactive, thrive in complexity, and know how to build toward simplicity over time.
The Challenge
Own the full lifecycle of our security data infrastructure, from pipeline to dashboard. Day to day, this means:
- Building and maintaining a scalable security data pipeline infrastructure that teams across the organization can rely on.
- Partnering with engineering teams on security and privacy initiatives, ensuring data accessibility, quality, and reliability are built in from the start.
- Collaborating with Security Incident Response Engineers on threat detection (alerts, searches, reports) and supporting active investigations.
- Crafting and building advanced Power BI dashboards that surface security metrics, targets, and trends for technical and executive partners alike.
- Maintaining a BI analytics layer that enables self-service reporting across the security organization with consistent governance, dataset certification, and report versioning.
- Transforming complex security data into clear visual stories, making insights around alert volumes, MTTD/MTTR, vulnerability posture, and compliance accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Developing processes for analytics, data modeling, and data production, and evaluating new tooling and automation opportunities.
What is needed to Succeed
Requirements
Deep experience in both data engineering and security, with a passion for BI that sets you apart. You likely have:
- 7-10 years in backend infrastructure or data systems, with 4+ years in Security Engineering or a related field. You're fluent in SQL, Python, and PySpark, and comfortable deploying Spark jobs in the cloud via EMR or AWS Glue.
- AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, CloudWatch) and can keep data secure across regions and data centers. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Kinesis are familiar territory.
- 5+ years with enterprise BI platforms and advanced Power BI proficiency, including DAX, Power Query (M), star/snowflake data modeling, paginated reports, composite models, row-level security (RLS), and deployment pipelines.
- Connect Power BI to sources like Azure Synapse, Databricks, AWS Redshift, and REST APIs.
- Detection and Response experience (DFIR, Detection Engineering, or Threat Intelligence) is a strong plus, as is familiarity with Grafana, Databricks or Splunk dashboards
