Job description

Linux System Administration

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and systems.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and security fixes regularly.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure system availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine operational tasks.
  • Automate deployment, configuration management, and system updates.
  • Utilize tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for infrastructure automation.
  • Create monitoring and alerting scripts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and process optimization.

Infrastructure Management

  • Support Linux-based private cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking environments.
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance and configurations.
  • Work with virtualization and cloud technologies to support scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of cloud platforms and services.

Support & Maintenance

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Linux systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform regular maintenance activities including upgrades, patching, and backups.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and timely resolution of production issues.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure environments.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Protect systems and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and security threats.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders on infrastructure initiatives.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud System Engineer to support and manage our Linux-based private cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, security, and efficient operation of systems that support critical business functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux administration, cloud technologies, data center, automation, scripting, and infrastructure support. This individual should be proactive, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions., * 10-12 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or Cloud System Engineer.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with Linux distributions such as Red Hat and Ubuntu.
  • Hands-on experience with private cloud technologies such as OpenStack and Kubernetes.
  • Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, or Perl.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, virtualization, and storage technologies.
  • Experience working with commercial backup and storage systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Telecom IT systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks.
