Job description

It's a really exciting time to join our Digital Team as there's a renewed, ambitious focus on digital innovation across the organisation, supported by a new five-year strategy.

Our vision is to help drive digital excellence across Staffordshire County Council to enhance our services, foster inclusivity and build a smarter, more connected future for our communities.

A vital component of the organisation, our Digital Team is at the forefront of driving digital innovation and online excellence. Crafting and optimising digital experiences the team collaborates with partners and stakeholders from across the whole organisation to design and implement cutting edge solutions.

We have recently completed a major transformation migrating Staffordshire County Council's main website and microsites to the LocalGov Drupal platform. This move places user needs, accessibility and consistency at the heart of our digital services, aligning with sector best practice while giving us greater flexibility to iterate and improve.

From web development, user interface design, automation and artificial intelligence the team is committed to elevating Staffordshire County Council's digital footprint. In five years, our goal is to be an agile adopter of digital innovation., You will have a diverse range of responsibilities from assisting the development and implementation of web-based projects to analysing digital performance metrics. You'll also:

  • work in collaboration with service areas to deliver innovative and user-focused digital solutions that support the organisation's strategic objectives ensuring seamless communication and coordination
  • operate in an agile and collaborative way, using modern tools and methods to design, develop and test digital products and services.
  • embrace a culture of experimentation and learning, gathering feedback, measuring impact, and fully understanding benefits, embracing all opportunities to learn and improve.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the ongoing development, optimisation and governance of our LocalGov Drupal platform. This includes improvement of user journeys and ensure our digital services continue to meet accessibility standards and user needs.

Requirements

With a keen eye for detail and a passion for digital innovation, you'll have:

  • a Diploma Level 3 in web technology or multimedia technology significant recent experience
  • Experience of working on enterprise size web sites including knowledge of content management systems and HTML coding, SharePoint server, statistical analytics packages, and design software skills.
  • Knowledge of web legislation and best practice, including W3C, WCAG, SocITM and EU directives.
  • Experience of identifying evidence-based improvement to service delivery through online systems.
