Job description

Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time. The Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25 will report to a higher-level manager within the Chief Information Office's, Integrated Operations Center. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP), policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related technical documentation.
  • Define the CI scope, attributes, and relationships necessary for service delivery, acting as a key role in the Asset and Configuration Management framework.
  • Ensure all CIs are updated, verified, and authorized via change management, and perform regular audits for accuracy.
  • Leverage tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM, Zenoss, Dynatrace, Armis) for automated discovery and reports on metrics, compliance, and service improvement opportunities.
  • Track dependencies between CIs to help assess the impact of changes and troubleshoot incidents.
  • Define and implement all role-based access controls for the maintenance of Location, Group, and User data within the ITSM system
  • Perform all necessary hiring and supervisory activities to build and stabilize the Configuration and Data Management team

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 4 OR in a position at G-23 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.
