U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Systems Engineer Sr. - Linux Infrastructure in Tempe, Arizona., The Systems Engineer Sr. - Linux Infrastructure is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise-level infrastructure across virtual and physical environments; creating and integrating solutions and services; directing or recommending enhancements for system performance, reliability, scalability, and capacity; leading the configuration of hardware and software solutions; evaluating product and service solutions; leading and developing multiplatform converged enterprise standards; modeling and providing solutions targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new platform solutions for business, customer, and infrastructure services; working on ServiceNow SCTASKs and Change Tasks for operational requests and system modifications; coordinating and implementing changes to remediate vulnerabilities in iDRAC, iLO, VMs, and physical servers; performing firmware and OS patching for hardware and hypervisors in compliance with security guidelines; supporting and troubleshooting Red Hat HA Clusters, Oracle RAC, HADR, Veritas Cluster, and PCS; automating routine tasks and patching workflows using Ansible and Python; investigating system issues through logs and alerts, resolving incidents efficiently to maintain uptime; maintaining clear documentation for infrastructure changes, troubleshooting, and automation procedures; developing and performing capacity and resource planning to optimize and expand existing network systems; assisting in Quarterly Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, ensuring systems meet recovery time objectives and compliance standards; and, following ITIL-aligned change and incident management practices. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering. Requires 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or related., Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering. Requires 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or related. Must possess 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience with each of the following: designing, deploying, setup and supporting of different Linux operating systems; setup and configuration of profiles in the in-house and private cloud; working with application/database teams to provide operating system (OS) level assistance for them to install and run products; using Ansible ad-hoc commands to write Ansible playbooks; designing, setting up, and testing environment for OS patches; checking for updates of tools that business teams require; designing, planning, implementing patching and upgrading of tools as to when required to make infrastructure UpToDate; working in IaaS Agile environment writing stories and plan the work in sprints; maintaining, supporting repository servers for RPM repos and Deb Package Repos; implementing migrations from physical to virtual, RHEL to CentOS, RHEL 6 to 7, CentOS 6 to 7, Data Center migrations, Standard to IaaS platform migration; troubleshooting and performance tuning; designing, configuring, and supporting high availability clusters using Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) for service failover and resource management; Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for database clustering and load balancing; Red Hat Pacemaker for cluster resource management and service continuity; performing cluster failover testing, resource tuning, and troubleshooting in clustered environments, and supporting disaster recovery (DR) exercises and planned maintenance windows involving clustered systems; and, utilizing all of the following: RHEL 7,8, HP and DELL Hardware. VMWARE virtualization, Git, GitLab, GitLab Runner, Ansible, BASH, Python, Hadoop, Docker and Kubernetes, Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, Oracle, DB2, F5, firewall, Splunk, MQ, Java. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
