Job description

A regulated financial institution is looking for a seasoned Workday consultant to conduct a structured assessment of their current environment and build a clear optimization roadmap. This is a strategic advisory role you'll interview stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, and Internal Audit, identify gaps between how the system is configured and how it should be operating, and deliver a prioritized plan with quick wins and longer-term improvements.

The organization implemented Workday across all major modules but has not meaningfully evolved the system since go-live. Significant opportunity exists to reduce manual workarounds, rationalize business processes, strengthen access controls, and build internal capability. You'll report directly to the CHRO.

Scope of work

  • Full configuration review across Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and Learning modules
  • Security roles, segregation of duties, and access controls - including a flagged super-admin concentration risk
  • Business process, approval workflow, and notification rationalization
  • Reporting, dashboards, and data integrity assessment
  • Stakeholder interviews and governance / ownership model redesign
  • Delivery of a prioritized implementation roadmap with training and knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on Workday HCM expertise across multiple modules you've seen what "good" looks like at scale and can translate that for a lean 250-person shop
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, or similar) sensitivity to audit and compliance expectations is non-negotiable
  • Background in Workday implementations, optimizations, or post-go-live assessments ideally with mid-market or smaller organizations
  • Strong project management skills you can own a workstream, communicate progress clearly, and keep stakeholders aligned without hand-holding
  • Executive presence you'll present findings and recommendations directly to CHRO-level leadership
  • Change management experience helping teams adopt new ways of working, not just documenting gaps
