Job description

The Government & Fraud Division is looking for a Manager, Software Development to lead a team of 6-8 software developers and SDETs and collaborate with other managers and technical leads to manage software development work in a highly collaborative organization. This role will be responsible for managing the development of the Anti-Money Laundering and other compliance applications.

As a Manager, Software Development you will:

  • Manage all aspects of the team, including development and testing, internal and external communication/collaboration, performance management and improvement, and professional growth.
  • Understand the career objectives of your team members and support them on their journey to achieve them
  • Work with product management, project management and development team to understand, refine, and scope planned work.
  • Ensure that projects are completed and implemented in a timely manner while following established procedures and schedules.
  • Regularly communicate development and testing status, project risks, resource requirements and allocation, and other relevant knowledge with upper management.
  • Ensure R&D standards and guidelines are followed per established criteria, including adoption of the appropriate technology and architecture standards.
  • Become actively involved in daily operations and duties as needed to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems or issues. Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals. Refer to GCF and include if security is listed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of related programming or testing experience, including one year of project lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience in leading projects to deliver high quality, scalable, performant and secure code.
  • Experience in developing applications for the cloud including the use of one of more of the large cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Experience in CI/CD and DevOps using GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Experience with Agile practices and collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications

Additional competencies, knowledge and skills

  • Familiarity with SAS products (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with microservice architectures, container technologies.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and public cloud provider technologies.
