Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Data Services, the Student Information System (SIS) Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) supports the successful implementation, configuration, and ongoing use of SIS, with a specific immediate focus on Alpine School District's migration to a new SIS version. The SIS TSA collaborates with district and school personnel to ensure system accuracy, build user capacity, and support consistent practices across schools. This includes providing training, documentation, troubleshooting, and project support to ensure a smooth transition and effective long-term use of SIS. Essential Functions: Configuration and System Support

  • Support the configuration and setup of SIS modules and features

  • Assist in the migration of data and processes to new versions of the software

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with district and state requirements

  • Support standardization of practices and system use across schools

  • Assist in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of system functionality Training and Capacity Building

  • Develop and deliver training for office staff, administrators, and other end users

  • Create and maintain user guides, documentation, and training resources

  • Support schools in understanding and effectively using SIS for daily operations

  • Provide ongoing support during and after implementation to ensure confidence and competence

  • Differentiate support based on user roles and experience levels Customer Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide timely and effective support to school and district staff

  • Respond to help requests related to SIS functionality, processes, and data

  • Diagnose and resolve issues or escalate as appropriate

  • Maintain a strong customer service orientation in all interactions District Project and Implementation Support

  • Support district-wide efforts related to the SIS migration project

  • Collaborate with Data Services, Technology, and school teams to ensure alignment and progress

  • Assist in developing and refining processes, workflows, and best practices

  • Balance multiple priorities and timelines to support successful implementation

  • Provide feedback to improve system use, training, and support structures

Requirements

  • Requires a current State of Utah teaching certificate (and that it be maintained throughout employment in this position)
  • Experience working in school or district settings with student information systems preferred
  • Requires knowledge of school operations including attendance, grading, scheduling, and student data management
  • Experience with SIS (SMS 2.0 and/or Qmlativ) strongly preferred
  • Requires the ability and willingness to work in both Elementary and Secondary school settings
  • Requires effective interpersonal skills to train, support, and collaborate with individuals and groups at all organizational levels
  • Requires strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
  • Requires the ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to changing processes
  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot technical and procedural issues
  • Requires demonstrated competence in providing professional development and training to adult learners
  • Requires an attitude of continuous learning and a willingness to support system improvement efforts
  • Requires a valid Utah Driver License
