Job description
Ability to drive to client locations in the area may be requested for support. Must have valid CA drivers license.
Dutie include:
- General plumbing: Toilets, faucets, fix leaks etc.
- Basic Electrical: light bulbs, checking circuit breakers/fuses, checking thermostats,
- Preventative Maintenance Walks: doing regular checks to ensure key site requirements are maintained, such as fire extinguisher checks, identifying areas with water leaks or water damage, exits pathways are clear and unobstructed, etc.
- Light handyman duties: Hanging of whiteboards, moving of furniture or other materials, light patching of walls, etc.
- Maintain, repair office space including HVAC, lighting, electrical and plumbing.
- Inspects facilities for building safety and needed repairs.
- Give updates to Facilities Manager on a regular basis in regards to work progress.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments.
- Oversees, evaluates and maintains records, reports and documentation related to Facilities Department (work orders, inventory management, etc.).
- Assists with other projects and duties as assigned.
- General facilities support
Requirements
- Though prior knowledge in the areas above is preferred, no special skills or prior training required. Training will be provided.
- Must have PC proficiency, working knowledge of MS Office
- Provide excellent customer service to teachers and students
- Ability to perform building and equipment maintenance work involving a variety of trades.
- Working knowledge of office equipment.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Capability to review, evaluate and modify work methods.
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License and availability for emergency response is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism.
- Ability to do moderate to heavy labor and moving tasks. Should be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; Bilingual preferred.
- Must be reliable, have a positive/professional attitude, and a professional appearance
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends if needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
- Own an insured and reliable vehicle
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Letter of recommendation
