Job description
Seeking a Sr. Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. This individual will provide senior-level technical leadership across data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, governed, and aligned with enterprise cloud standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable enterprise data pipelines and data platform solutions
- Build and optimize analytical data models for reporting and business intelligence use cases
- Collaborate with architecture, analytics, governance, and application teams to deliver data solutions
- Implement cloud-native and distributed data processing solutions
- Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance optimization across platforms
- Support enterprise data integration initiatives and modernization efforts
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows and orchestration processes
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and strategic data initiatives
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and scalable design

Requirements
- Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 10 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform development
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Extensive experience designing and building enterprise data pipelines and analytical data models
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed data processing
- Strong understanding of data architecture patterns, data integration, and performance optimization
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies including Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bamboo
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
- Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud modernization initiatives
