Job description
- Support in-vehicle battery pack integration activities for development and prototype builds
- Calibrate and drive tuning of BMS application parameters, including:
- SOC/SOH estimation behavior
- Charge and discharge current limits
- Thermal management thresholds and protections
- Cell balancing strategies
- Power and thermal derate strategies
- Participate in vehicle integration activities and drive testing to verify BMS performance and system behavior
- Translate vehicle usage profiles and environmental conditions into optimized BMS calibration and configuration
- Support customer-facing battery attributes, including range, charging performance, and drivability
- Analyze vehicle and pack data logs to verify behavior and identify issues
- Assist with issue resolution during prototype builds, integration events, and validation testing

Requirements
- Engineer capable of bridging vehicle-level requirements and real-world vehicle behavior with BMS configuration and operation
- Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery systems and BMS functionality (SOC/SOH estimation, current limits, thermal management, balancing)
- Experience working with vehicle-integrated battery packs and system-level validation
- Comfortable analyzing vehicle CAN data, diagnostics, and test results to understand pack and BMS behavior
- Ability to translate vehicle usage profiles and performance targets into BMS application settings
- Strong cross-functional collaborator able to work with Vehicle Integration, BMS Software, Validation, and Systems Engineering teams
- Practical, hands-on problem solver with strong root cause investigation and debugging skills, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 Years of relevant experience (7+ preferred)
- Experience working with battery systems, BMS software behavior, and battery pack integration
- Familiarity with vehicle communication networks (CAN) and data analysis tools
- Ability to analyze system-level interactions between vehicle, battery pack, and BMS controls
- Experience supporting vehicle testing, validation, or integration activities
- Strong technical communication skills for coordinating across software, hardware, and vehicle engineering teams
- Ability to move between data analysis, hands-on vehicle testing, and system-level troubleshooting
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to travel (up to10%)
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Must have the ability to stand, walk and perform repetitive tasks for extended period of time.
