Job description
We are seeking a skilled VMware & HCX Migration Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in virtualization and cloud migration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting workload migrations using VMware HCX across on-premises and cloud environments (such as VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, VE)., Plan and execute VM migrations using VMware HCX (vMotion, Bulk Migration, Cold Migration, Replication Assisted vMotion) Deploy, configure, and manage VMware HCX components (Manager, Interconnect, WAN Optimization, Network Extension) Perform assessment and discovery of workloads for migration readiness Handle L2 network extension and ensure minimal downtime during migration Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance Work with cross-functional teams (network, storage, cloud) to ensure smooth migration Validate post-migration workloads and ensure application functionality Maintain documentation for migration plans, runbooks, and execution reports Support DR and rollback strategies during migration
Requirements
8 years strong experience in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) 5+ years hands-on experience with VMware HCX migrations Good understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, VPN, routing, firewalls) 5+ years experience with cloud platforms (VMware Cloud on AWS / Azure VMware Solution / Google Cloud Platform) Knowledge of migration strategies and tools Familiarity with NSX (preferred but not mandatory) Basic scripting knowledge (PowerCLI / Bash / Python) is a plus
Qualifications: VMware certifications (VCP-DCV preferred) HCX deployment or migration experience is a strong advantage
Nice to Have: Experience with multi-cloud migrations Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions (SRM, Zerto, etc.) Exposure to automation and infrastructure-as-code

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting hourly range for this remote role is ($55 - 60/hourly ). This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate''s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
