Job description

This position evaluates, designs, develops, tests, performs maintenance, and supports UPS technology assets. He/She contributes to the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, performance, capacity tuning, and support of third-party infrastructures, applications, and appliances (i.e., transaction, collaboration, communications protocols, application delivery, virtualization, and directory services). This position executes processes to improve the reliability, efficiency, and availability of the systems environment., * Serves as a subject matter expert for the administration, maintenance, customization, and support of workforce automation tools to increase organizational efficiency.

  • Evaluates, designs, and reviews technology solutions to ensure alignment with approved architecture standards, business requirements, and long-term scalability.
  • Ensures deployed solutions comply with UPS IT, Information Security, Privacy, and regulatory requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Partners with architecture, compliance, and security teams to support solution architecture reviews, approvals, and risk assessments.
  • Participates in solution testing, validation, and documentation to support operational readiness and ongoing support.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on system reliability, performance optimization, and availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or industry equivalent (Genetec Certification or ProWatch Certification) in Computer Science or a related discipline - Preferred
  • Prior knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with low-voltage systems (e.g., access control, video surveillance, or related infrastructure) - Preferred
  • Genetec certification or hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center - Preferred
  • Experience with Honeywell ProWatch access control systems - Preferred, Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
