AI Application Engineer

In this position, you will take current proof of concept, design, develop, and maintain the AI-driven web applications using Claude Code and similarly related technologies. Responsibilities

• Own the build. Take our proof of concept across the finish line and into production. Design, develop, deploy, and iterate - end to end using Claude Code & related technologies.
• Bridge prototype to production. Take AI-generated or "vibe coded" concepts and transform them into production-ready web experiences - structured, maintainable, performant, and deployable on real infrastructure.
• Translate AI-generated UI/code into clean, scalable front-end implementations (HTML/CSS/JS frameworks), ensuring responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Architect for scale. Build application infrastructure that doesn't just work today - it holds up when we grow.
• Own the final mile of delivery. Manage domains, hosting, deployments, and performance of live web applications.
• Manage and maintain web platforms and CMS environments (e.g., WordPress), including themes, plugins, and ongoing optimization.
• Collaborate cross-functional. Work directly with business stakeholders to understand the problem, then translate that into clean, effective solutions.
• Raise the floor. Mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and push the team's technical standard higher.
• Stay sharp. The AI landscape shifts constantly. You're already tracking it, experimenting with it, and bringing relevant advances into your work.
• Solve the hard stuff. When something breaks or doesn't make sense, you dig in - troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the development lifecycle.
• Optimize and enhance the performance of existing applications to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Implement and manage robust, scalable, and secure application architectures.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for code and application infrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding and application security standards.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Hands-on experience building with AI/LLM APIs and frameworks - you've shipped something real with them
• Strong command of Python and JavaScript; comfortable across the stack
• Solid experience with modern web application development (front-end and back-end)
• Experience taking applications from prototype to production, including deployment, hosting, and real-world usage.
• Strong understanding of core front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, responsive design) beyond frameworks.
• Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and managed hosting environments (e.g., WP Engine).
• RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Git - these are second nature to you
• SQL and NoSQL databases - you know when to use which and why
• You've worked in agile environments and know how to move without chaos
