Job description

We are evolving our Reliability Engineering team to move beyond support and operations. As a Senior Engineer in Site Reliability, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive organization that has full ownership of the availability, performance, and scalability of one of the most critical shared services at LSEG.

We are looking for people with a passion for learning and a continuous-improvement mindset to join our Electronic Trading (ET) team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, reliability, and operational excellence of our high-performance FX trading platform-technology used by major financial institutions around the world.

This role plays a key part in ensuring our trading systems remain robust, secure, scalable, and highly available. You will work across complex, mission-critical environments and drive architectural enhancements that support the future of our platform.

The ET platform is a highly configurable, component-based FX dealing system delivered as isolated client instances. It supports direct electronic trading via web interfaces, connectivity adaptors, and APIs. The platform integrates seamlessly with market-rate providers, credit engines, and backend services to enable full straight-through processing.

What You Will Do

  • Own and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for the systems you support.
  • Continuously measure and improve availability, and overall system health.
  • Develop automation to scale systems sustainably and prevent or mitigate service issues.
  • Partner with development teams to enhance reliability, observability, and release velocity.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, post-incident reviews, and root-cause analysis. Promote strong engineering practices to help build, deploy, and operate high-performance services.
  • Act as a key enabler for Cloud migration, working with operations and engineering teams from project inception through to operational readiness.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, support operational acceptance testing, and configure Datadog dashboards and metrics.

Requirements

You will need to have experience of DevOps or operating highly available distributed systems, strong scripting and automation skills (Bash,Python,etc). Understanding of Linux and cloud environments. Knowledge of working with financial trading systems an advantage., * A Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience with programming languages such as: Java, C#, Python.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in Observability practices with logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
  • Hands on Experience with one of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, Kubernetes

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience on DevOps concepts and way of working.
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures.
