Job description
This is not a remote opportunity. Position required to report to the Grand Rapids, MI office daily., The Compliance Monitoring & Testing Analyst is responsible for supporting the Compliance Department by performing evaluations of internal business units, products, and functions to ensure regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and alignment with established policies.
What you'll do:
- Design and execute compliance tests of business unit controls and processes to determine level of compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Review departmental policies and procedures to determine alignment with applicable regulations and completeness and provide recommendations to address identified control gaps and areas of non-compliance.
- Identify and document existing controls, assess adequacy of control design, provide rationale to support conclusions; develop test plans to assess control effectiveness; execute test plans and document testing performed.
- Detect control gaps and inform the Compliance Management and stakeholders of identified issues in a timely manner; validate issues noted with stakeholders to ensure factual accuracy.
- Evaluate gaps in testing/monitoring schedule, testing plans, and work paper design to suggest areas for improvement.
- Prepare draft and final reports for distribution to Compliance Management and stakeholders; evaluate stakeholder developed action plans and proposed remediation timeframes.
- Monitor and address identified issues to ensure the prompt execution of agreed action plans.
- Perform monthly HMDA Data testing, develop and maintain reports and serve as a subject matter expert of all HMDA regulatory requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal consumer laws, regulations, guidance, and interpretations.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Regulatory compliance?, Do you have a Trade school?, * 1 - 3 years of previous compliance experience in retail banking and/or lending.
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, preferred.
