Job description

The Configuration Analyst will drive the release, change control, and configuration management processes that ensure the integrity of engineering documentation across our uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) programs. This role will act as a central hub between engineering, production, quality, and program management, overseeing the structure and discipline required to manage CAD models, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and associated configuration data from concept through sustainment., The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Own and manage the engineering change process including drawing releases, ECOs, part creation, BOM structure updates, and product baselines. The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for configuration control within the product development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to ensure accurate and timely release of engineering documentation.
  • Lead the configuration governance of CAD models, drawing standards, revision control, and PLM/PDM workflows.
  • Maintain the integrity of configuration records including revision history, compliance with CM policies, and traceability of released documentation.
  • Support cross-functional teams by generating and managing structured bills of materials for development and production builds.
  • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures related to drawing release, part numbering, labeling, and documentation workflows.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure configuration data aligns with procurement and production needs.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to engineers and technicians on CM tools and standards.
  • Participate in audits and support compliance with internal quality management systems (QMS) and external standards such as AS9100, ISO, or CMMC.

Requirements

This position is ideal for a technically capable and detail-oriented individual with strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills, who thrives in fast-paced development environments and enjoys enabling cross-functional alignment through process discipline. The Configuration Analyst will create, refine, and enforce CM processes and standards, as well as guide junior team members and support system/tool improvements., * Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of (8) years of experience as a configuration management (CM) specialist or related role
  • Strong proficiency with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Arena, Windchill, or similar).
  • Experience managing BOMs, ECOs, and drawing release processes in a regulated or disciplined environment.
  • Familiarity with drawing standards, engineering documentation, and revision of control practices.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), including review and markup of drawings.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another high-compliance; product-centric industry is strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Capable of navigating ambiguity and proactively identifying and resolving data and process issues. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Comfortable acting as a process owner and teacher to others within the organization., * Familiarity with ASME Y14.100, AS9100, and other industry configuration standards.
  • Experience implementing or improving PLM systems and data governance policies.
  • Prior experience leading drawing reviews, part audits, or CM standard development.
  • Exposure to program-level configuration management in a development and production setting.
  • Ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and enforce processes across departments.
  • Passion for building clean, scalable systems and empowering others through clarity and structure., The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
