Description: Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in either Merrimack, NH or Westlake, TX Our client seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to build cloud-native applications. You will design and deliver secure, scalable solutions on AWS, leveraging containers, Kubernetes, and modern Java frameworks. You will collaborate in an agile environment and present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will contribute to composite APIs, tools, and frameworks that enable teams to accelerate value delivery in the public cloud. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $70.00 to $75.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities:
- Design, Build, and Deploy: Design, build, and deploy cloud-native services and composite APIs on AWS.
- Java/Spring REST API Development: Develop containerized applications using Java Spring Boot and Micronaut. Experience with Micronaut is a plus.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- AWS Deployments: Implement secure, scalable, and observable solutions leveraging AWS services.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for build, test, and deployment.
- Self-Service Platforms: Enable self-service platforms, tools, and frameworks for development teams.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate within agile teams and present solutions to varied stakeholders.
- Platform Reliability: Contribute to platform reliability through testing, monitoring, and optimization.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
Experience: 10+ years of professional software development experience.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Java and Spring framework. Extensive experience with REST API development. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. Proven experience in building and deploying applications on AWS. Familiarity with Micronaut is a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of other cloud platforms and services. Experience in agile development methodologies.
Experience in retail financial markets or a highly regulated industry (preferred) Education Requirements:
BS degree in computer science preferred. AWS certification (preferred).
