Job description

The IT Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of GST IT department and infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to: VMWare infrastructure, Veeam backups, Cisco networking infrastructure, Windows 2008 r2 server environment, SQL Server 2008 r2, Amazon AWS cloud, CentOS and Fedora Linux environment, Level 3 user support, printers and mobile devices., * Supervise two (2) Junior/Mid-level employees in day-to-day tasks

  • Ongoing maintenance of the GST system infrastructure
  • Planning and implementation of new initiatives to keep infrastructure stable and updated
  • Ongoing written and oral communication with management and users relating to system failures, maintenance or new initiatives
  • Coordination with several remote sites to ensure IT needs are met
  • Ongoing upkeep, maintenance and communication of GST IT Procedures, Policies Plans to stay current

Occasional on-call, after-hour and weekend travel to the office may be necessary to support system infrastructure requirements including, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Information Technology or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent education and experience.

  • Experience in the following technologies:

  • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS

  • MS SharePoint

  • VMWare ESXi 5.5 and 6.5, vSphere, vCenter

  • Veeam

  • Exchange 2010

  • Windows 7 / 2008r2 and 2012 Server

  • SQL Server

  • Amazon AWS Cloud

  • CentOS and Fedora

  • Cisco Switch/Router/Firewall

  • Excellent problem solving skills, forward looking thinking to improve/upgrade the IT enterprise and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to effectively communicate goals and responsibilities to IT department, management and users

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively alone, and in a group setting

  • Ability to supervise /manage IT Department projects and personnel

Desired Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

  • Deltek software (Costpoint)
  • General scripting

Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • May require execution of small, immediate projects on tight deadlines to sustain life-cycle activities associated with servers, workstations and various other information technology-oriented projects.
  • Candidate must quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines, work unsupervised and have a strong commitment to a team environment.

Physical Requirement:

  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
