Job description
- Install, configure, and maintain data science platforms including Posit Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager
- Manage Linux-based systems (patching, performance tuning, system optimization)
- Support R and Python environments, including package and dependency management
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to data scientists and developers
- Ensure system security and compliance (STIGs/SRGs, vulnerability scanning tools)
- Monitor system performance, manage user access, and support backup/recovery processes
Requirements
- 5+ years of Linux system administration experience
- Experience supporting R and/or Python environments
- Experience managing applications in enterprise Linux environments
- Knowledge of system security, patching, and compliance frameworks
- Bachelor's degree
- Relevant certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, CCSP, etc.), * Experience with Posit (RStudio) platforms - Workbench, Connect, Package Manager
- Experience with Jupyter, VS Code, or similar IDEs
- Exposure to Kubernetes or containerized environments
- Experience with automation/scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible)
- Familiarity with cloud or virtual environments (Azure, VMware, Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of authentication systems (LDAP, Active Directory, SSO)
