The IT Manager, Platform Engineering role leads a team of software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of resilient enterprise solutions. This posting will be used to fill multiple manager roles that engineer SaaS platforms for Sales/Marketing or IBM Sterling B2B/EDI integration. These positions collaborate closely with product, architecture, and business partners to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. The role demands strong leadership, deep technical acumen, and a forward-thinking mindset to guide teams in adopting modern engineering practices, including Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and AI-driven solutions., Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Manage team performance, providing coaching and career development opportunities to grow engineering talent.
- Champion an environment of collaboration, high quality IT practices and continuous improvement.
Technical Strategy & Execution
- Guide the team in the end-to-end delivery of software, from architectural design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure the team's work aligns with the strategic product roadmap and enterprise architecture standards.
- Drive the implementation of resilient and scalable engineering solutions,
Innovation & Critical Thinking
- Lead the exploration and adoption of new technologies, including AI, to drive efficiency and deliver business value.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate complex business problems into clear, actionable engineering plans.
- Promote critical thinking and a first-principles approach to problem-solving within the team.
Requirements
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams, build a positive culture, and manage performance.
- Critical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous challenges.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of modern software development practices, system architecture, and SDLC.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a history of successful cross-functional partnership.
- Resilience & SRE: Strong knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles and experience building highly available, scalable systems.
- Platform Experience: Background in enterprise software development. Specific experience in one of the following is highly desired:
- SaaS platforms and Cloud Engineering (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, GCP, Azure)
- B2B integration platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, MuleSoft) and EDI standards.
- Emerging Technology: Knowledgeable in the application of AI and other new technologies in an enterprise context., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a demonstrated progression of responsibility.
- 2+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Engineering Manager).
- Proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality software projects.
- Strong understanding of agile development methodologies.
