Job description
GDIT is seeking an ITIL Automation / Orchestration Engineer to streamline and modernize service delivery across ITSM platforms. You will design automations, integrate systems, and build orchestration workflows that accelerate mission outcomes and reduce operational friction across Defense programs.
How You'll Make an Impact

Build automated workflows that streamline ITIL/ITSM processes (Change, Incident, Request, CMDB, etc.).

Integrate platforms such as ServiceNow, cloud services, monitoring tools, and DevSecOps pipelines.

Develop reusable automations that reduce toil and improve service quality across the enterprise.

Collaborate with service owners to translate ITIL processes into actionable automated workflows.

Implement orchestration that connects infrastructure, applications, and support systems.

Contribute to broader modernization initiatives by standardizing automation best practices.
Requirements

Experience:
8 + years of related experience, * Strong experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow preferred).

Hands-on experience building automations, REST integrations, and workflow orchestration.

Solid understanding of ITIL processes and service management fundamentals.

Strong scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell).

Experience integrating cloud platforms, monitoring tools, and CI/CD systems.

Ability to work across teams to define automation needs and deliver practical solutions.

US Citizenship Required

Candidate must possess active SECRET clearance, and the ability to obtain TOP SECRET/SCI.
Batchelors and 8 years of progressive work experience.
Preferred

ITIL Foundation or higher certifications.

Experience with ServiceNow Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, or similar tools.

Experience with enterprise architecture, CMDB design, or process optimization.
Benefits & conditions
The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
