Job description

This position is responsible for engaging in different IT projects across the organization. Engagement can include designing, developing, implementing, and supporting mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports, dashboards, and data analysis., This position is responsible for engaging in different IT projects across the organization. Engagement can include designing, developing, implementing, and supporting mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports, dashboards, and data analysis. This position will work with cross-functional teams to gather and document reporting requirements to design, develop, test, and implement reports, lists, and dashboards that utilize underlying data stores/data warehouses/data marts. Additionally, this position will play a role in configuring, building, and testing BI reports and assisting in data needs within the ticketing platform. The teammate in this position will also play a role in developing standards, establishing guidelines and best practices for BI development and maintenance, as well as consult on new and ongoing analysis efforts., Essential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create, test, and manage complex SQL queries to extract data from operational systems.

  • Develop and maintain data reports to host on web- platforms such as CRM's, Power BI, Financial systems, etc.

  • Partner with end users to gather project requirements, analyze needs and process flow and develop user-oriented data solutions

  • Design, develop, and deploy Power BI and Sisense dashboards to meet business needs.

  • Release approved stored procedures, dashboards, and reports to production and assist in operational release cycles.

  • Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources

  • Under the guidance of department leadership, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings

  • Interact regularly with management and clients to constantly improve ETL processes, data marts, reporting and dashboard services

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain BI reports within DCPA systems

  • Assist with configuring, updating, and maintaining changes within ticketing system

  • Develop, edit, and maintain documentation related to this role's and the department's workflows and processes.

  • Collaborate with end-users and IT to ensure data integrity and data security.

  • Be available for scheduled on-call rotation as needed

  • Night and weekend work as needed

Requirements

Must be detail oriented, with strong multi-tasking and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent communication, self-management, quality assurance and organizational skills., * Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence or other data related field or equivalent data related professional experience required

  • 2+ years of additional experience developing BI solutions built on the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack such as SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS Proficient in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Transact SQL (T-SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Sisense
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems and extract, transform, load (ETL) framework
  • Strong understanding of core schemas and data structures, including the ability to design and implement extract, load, transform (ELT) data pipelines
  • Extensive knowledge of relational databases and building custom SQL queries
  • Ability to communicate with project management team and department leadership throughout the project lifecycle and support development of BI dashboards and reports
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in a thorough and clear fashion.
  • Strong understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, normalization and de-normalization techniques
