Job description
Robert Half is hiring an IT Support Technician to support a client in Austin, Texas. This is a long-term contract position offering an incredible opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring the seamless operation of IT environments., * Provide technical support for Windows and Linux systems, focusing on system upgrades and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Manage service desk tickets efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of user requests and incidents.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and software issues to maintain optimal system performance.
- Assist with operating system upgrades, including Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to enhance security and functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth implementation of system updates and changes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and resolutions for future reference.
- Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support end users by addressing technical queries and providing training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and standards.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Active Directory management and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server systems.
- Experience with basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with managing service desk tickets and workflows.
- Understanding of operating system upgrades for Windows and Linux platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with users and team members.
