Job description
Analyze moderately complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configure system settings and options; executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and assists in creating specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems.
The Engineer, Applications Development is in the Information Technology department and will work directly with business users to develop and implement systematic solutions that solve their business challenges. Another part of the position will be to provide the necessary support to ensure systems are available and functioning properly during operational hours.
Areas of expertise will include Production Planning, Production execution and to a smaller extent Quality inspection, Quality Assurance and warehouse management processes applied to the production processes.
This role is preferably onsite - hybrid at our Radnor, PA office (2 - 3x per week in office). Open to remote candidates as well., * Be the solution expert for all systems supporting Production planning and execution (SAP ECC and S4), Bartender labeling solution and any other manufacturing/planning corporate systems and interfaces with other connected systems.
- Works directly with business users to understand business requirements.
- Design, configure, test and implement solutions and software applications that meet business requirements.
- Work directly with global development teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure solutions are delivered and implemented according to specifications.
- Provide production support for any system issues.
- Research latest technologies that could provide value and benefit to the business.
- Manage projects as requested including budget, timeline, and resources.
- Work with third party software providers as required.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, industrial engineering or equivalent work experience
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience working with SAP ECC and/or S4 on PP and QM module including hands on configuration of these systems. Knowledge on the PP-WM integration is also required, and SAP PP-DS is a plus.
- Experience with SAP PP and/or PP-PI, QM.
- Strong understanding of the Production planning and Production Execution business processes.
- ABAP knowledge and any other programming knowledge/experience is a plus.
- Understanding of the business processes for production planning and execution in a chemical manufacturing context from the raw material receipt to the finished goods delivery.
- Complete understanding of SAP Production Master Data and past experience in SAP data load activity.
- Past experiences in deploying SAP in new location including fit/gap analysis, designing new custom functionality, configuring and building enhancements until supporting user acceptance testing and post go live support.
- Good knowledge of the systems validation concepts, change control procedures for both configuration and technical developments in an ABAP system.
- Effective written, oral communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment, working independently and prioritizing work
- Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to develop working relationships
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of management.
- Knowledge of the SAP ABAP programming language and ability to debug custom programs is also required.
Benefits & conditions
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$78,000.00 - $125,350.00
Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
