Job description

The Perioperative Inventory Tech supports the needs of assigned Operating Rooms, Cardiac Cathlabs and other Pre-operative departments in the hospital by ensuring that inventory is obtained in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains a high standard of accuracy and interacts frequently with the hospital data control system. Efficiently manages tasks while working in a sterile, fast-paced and high-demand environment., * With a high sense of urgency, delivers STAT items to Operating Room/Pre-operative staff upon request.

  • incoming shipments to verify receipt of the correct types and quantity of materials and supplies.
  • Unpacks and inspects items for damage/shortage. Reports to vendor or supervisor any discrepancies. Returns products back to vendors when needed.
  • Interacts with data control system to identify the classification of items (stock/non-stock). Accurately processes items according to standard operating procedures.
  • Stores items at designated locations accurately. Maintains supply areas keeping them neat and clean and properly labeled.
  • Performs cycle and par level counts in Operating Room (OR) suites and storage rooms as necessary.
  • Interacts with customers to review par levels, and receiving and delivery information.
  • Maintains records of material and supplies and related materials management activities, as required.
  • Picks and stages items for shipment to vendors.
  • Audit storerooms and OR suites for expired product.
  • Picks items for scheduled cases and completes case carts waiting for instruments.
  • Provides phone coverage as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as directed.

Requirements

A minimum of one to three years of experience in supply chain/ healthcare environment,preferred., High School Diploma or Equivalent., Computer knowledge in; Word, Excel, Microsoft, ETC. Must be able to multi-task. Special Requirements:Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances from eye
